ACRO DANCE​​​​

Acro Dance is an art form that incorporates th fluid movements of dance with the exciting tricks from acrobatics. It is “gymnastics for dancers”, where students develop specific strength, flexibility and technique, to learn how to execute acrobatic tricks, to then be used in dance choreography. The training students receive in their acro

dance classes helps to reinforce

the technique in all other dance genres. Adding acro dance is next

level training that will develop a

specific skill set, and creates well

rounded and versatile dancers.

All instructors are ADTA & USAG certified.

HIP-HOP / JAZZ FUNK​

Hip-hop is a dance style, usually danced to hip-hop music, that evolved from the hip-hop culture. Jazz funk is a perfect blend of hiphop moves and jazz technique. It is also known as commercial jazz. Hip-hop and Jazz funk are fast paced dance steps that require a ton of energy, enthusiasm, and rhythm. Our hip-hop and jazz funk program strive to be innovative and high energy.

 

 

TAP

Tap dance is a type of dance

characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. The sound is made by shoes that have a metal "tap" on the heel and toe. In tap you learn basic jazz steps and learn how to use the rhythm of the music to execute and enhance the percussion within the song. Our tap program is upbeat, fun, and technically advanced.

CREATIVE MOVEMENTS

Creative Movements is a 50 minute movement and music class designed for little movers 3-5 years of age. The class is the perfect introduction to music and movement for the very young child not ready to separate but ready to explore in a nurturing learning environment. The basic elements of dance are introduced in a positive and loving way using props such as scarves, stuffed animals and musical instruments.  Children participate together throughout the class. These little dancers must be potty trained to be able to join the class.

PROGRESSING BALLET TECHNIQUE (PBT)

Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet. Each exercise has been developed with care and guidance with a team of physiotherapists. This class is used to progress the technique within ballet and contemporary. It cannot be used as a substitute to traditional ballet classes but as an additional tool to help the student grow in technique. We are the FIRST studio in our area to offer this program with our certified teacher(s).

ITTY BITTY BALLERINAS OR

TINY TOTS

These classes are designed to introduce our young students into the dance program in a fun, safe, and positive learning environment. Each class consists of learning the basics within ballet, tap, & jazz, while including fun games, counting, and learning rhythm. These classes are 50 minutes and are for the beginner students ages 3yrs-5yrs.

CONTEMPORARY​

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, and classical ballet.

Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. Our contemporary program strives to produce technical dancers that are able to connect beautiful technique with emotional story telling.

BALLET​​​​​​​​ & PRE-BALLET

Ballet is a type of technique that originated during the Italian Renaissance in the fifteenth century and later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. It has since become a widespread, highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary based on French terminology. Our ballet program is based on the Cecchetti method with an influence of Balanchine choreography. A placement exam is required to place your child into the proper ballet class.

 

 

JAZZ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Jazz dance is a type of technique that can be the foundation of several related dance styles. All of them are connected via common roots, namely tap, ballet, jazz music, and African-American rhythms and dance. Our jazz program is for the detail oriented dancer that loves technique and showing off their sassy side. Quick moving, clean lines, and fun dance moves is what makes jazz dance so much fun!

LYRICAL

Lyrical dance is a dance style that blends elements of ballet and

jazz dance. Lyrical dance is generally a little more fluid than ballet and also somewhat faster -- although not as rapidly executed as jazz dance. Lyrical is a very expressive dance style that mostly tells a story by following the lyrics of a song and using the body to execute that story.

LEAPS & TURNS

Leaps & Turns is a technique class specifically designed to help dancers perform and execute proper technique within the various genres of dance. They work specifically on technical aspects across the floor and within their turns. You must be enrolled in our ballet or jazz program to be eligible for this class.

STRENGTH & FLEXIBILITY

Our certified instructor(s) in the ZST method of stretching and conditioning use this class for the students who are seeking a more advanced understanding of their body and how to achieve more advanced skills within the dance and gymnastics program. It is also the ground work for injury prevention and mobility training. You do NOT have to be registered for any other classes to sign up for out Strength and Flex classes. 

 

Paul Zaichik, is a World Renowned Fitness & Flexibility Expert. Founder of ElasticSteel Method of Athletic Conditioning, EasyFlexibility and the Zaichik Stretching Techniques. He created this program to help athletes achieve a higher level of technique within their sport in a safe and innovative way.

 

 

MUSIC & MOVEMENT

Music and movement is our baby class that involves the participation of any adult with the child. In this class the adult (parent, guardian, family member, etc.) will help lead the child in different exercises and learning strategies that involve music and the movement of their body. These classes are 45 minutes and are for toddlers ages 1yr-5yrs.
